AMD Radeon R9 Fury X 4GB Overclocking Results
You can overclock the R9 Fury X in the Catalyst Control Centre or in third party applications like MSI Afterburner. We chose the latter for its direct clock speed readings rather than CCC's percentage increase sliders. We set the power target to its maximum (a massive 150 percent) and left everything else as it was – the target temperature was already at its maximum of 75°C.
With these settings, we were only able to add 80MHz to the clock speed for a final reading of 1,130MHz before we ran into stability issues. This equates to just under 8 percent; not that impressive if we're being honest. There's also no ability to overclock the memory. AMD's reasoning here is that there's simply no need for it, claiming that even at high detail 4K gaming you won't be able to fill the bandwidth of the card as it comes. The results of our efforts can be seen below.
